Planning your wedding is such an exciting time, but can also be quite overwhelming with so many things to organise.  If you’re a control freak like me then you will be doing most, if not all, of the planning yourself…and your fiance’s sole responsibility will be to turn up on the day sober and looking presentable!

Anyway, I’m waffling….

You’re not here to hear the old nugget of “I’ve always had a camera in my hand…blah blah blah”…you’re here because you’re looking for a professional photographer for your wedding day, and while you might want to know just a little bit about me…. this isn’t about me, it’s about you!

I’m Louise and I’m a wedding and portrait photographer based in Helensburgh, which is just 10 minutes from the Bonnie banks of Loch Lomond.  I photographed my first wedding when I was 17!  I won’t bore you with every detail here, because this is about what I can do for you….but I may write a journal post about it at some point…..

I’m pleased to say that these days I’m a (MUCH) better photographer, with oodles of experience behind the camera and lots (several thousand pounds worth) of training under my belt.  I’ve even won a few awards from the Guild of Professional Photographers for my Loch Lomond wedding photos.

So how do you choose your wedding photographer?

The first thing is to make sure that you like….or preferably LOVE their photos.   Take a look through the wedding photos on the website, there are lots of different styles..make sure that you choose the photographer whose style fits with yours.

I always like to meet my prospective wedding couples before I take a booking, or at least have a chat over the phone.

Why? So that we get to know each other a little and we can figure out whether we actually like each other…yep I said it.  Apart from your other half, I’ll be the one person that you will spend more time with than anyone else on the day…so it will certainly help if we get on, you want to feel comfortable and relaxed.

I also want to know about YOU…. the whos, the whats the whys.  I want to be sure I capture every important detail of your Wedding Day so that you can relive it moment by moment when you pore over your wedding album page by page.

The benefit of meeting face to face is that you can see my wedding albums “in the flesh”  I guarantee that no photo or video of them does them justice.

And last but not least, what’s your budget for your wedding photography?

You need to choose a wedding photographer that fits your budget.  As a rule your wedding photography should be the next highest spend after your venue.  Yes that’s right….and there’s a pretty good reason for that.  When the wedding cake is eaten, the bouquets of flowers are dead and that beautiful wedding dress is in a box in the loft, it’s your wedding album that you will look at for years to come, that you will pass down through the generations of your family.
