Well here we are half way through another week of “lockdown” due to Covid-19…the Coronavirus.
If someone would have said to us last year that we would now be confined to our homes, unable to see family and friends and only able to leave the house for essentials……and quite often not being able to get those essentials, well first we’d have laughed at them, then we’d have probably asked which TV program they’d been watching and dismissed it out of hand. But yet here we are!
We are living through history, and whilst it’s hard going and at times scary, it’s given many of us the gift of time…time to spend with our children, playing together and working together….from baking bread to tending the garden, the things we probably did with our own parents…yet with our busy lives, quite often we just never find the time.
This will be what our children remember and look back on with a smile.
So let’s make the most of this, let’s make our own history and record it, so that in future years we can look back at the wonderful memories we made while the world stood still.
Today I’ve started creating some downloadable templates for you and your children to include in your own Time Capsule.
Each day I’ll upload a new page for you to print out along with some ideas, you don’t have to follow my order of doing things…and you don’t need to do it every day. Perhaps it could be a weekend activity that you and your children enjoy together, reflecting on what you’ve done during the previous week.
What to include in your Time Capsule
- Newspaper cuttings from your local newspaper or print outs of local news from the internet.
- Photos of you and your child engaged in an activity.
- Your child’s art work.
- A daily or weekly diary.
- Photos of your child’s creations.
- A “day in the life” photo diary of your child’s day.
- Special memories.
- what made you smile today.

A little update.
If you’ve been checking in regularly, you’ll probably have noticed that the website looks different….and that there’s a distinct lack of new pages 🙁
Goodness knows how, but I’ve somehow managed to not save my updated file which had several days of new pages….so I’m starting again and normal service shall resume in the next couple of days.

“Eilidh has enjoyed colouring the cover and is thinking about her favourite part of today. We will make a special effort to take pictures of our daily activities and us making memories during this very different time.
I’m not sure Eilidh is able to write a daily diary but we will try to write a little bit each week about our week.
It is a great way to help little ones keep busy with out thinking too much about what’s going on.
