This winter has been quite mild so far, but the morning of this lovely family’s photo session was rather cold, with a beautiful bright sky and the ground crunchy and sparkly with a thick frost.
Still that didn’t deter us from spending half an hour of their family session in the lovely gardens at the studio before going inside for a warm cup of tea and a biscuit or two! We walked, we tickled, we played peepo and we had fun, all whilst capturing that beautiful bond between Willow and her parents.
Kristy is a yoga teacher and runs Evolution Yoga, offering “yoga for all, no matter how small” Some of her classes are held in the larger of my 2 studios and lots of her pregnancy yoga ladies come along to me for their newborn sessions. Kristy and Craig are expecting their second bundle and wanted to capture their family as a three, before the next wee one arrives. I can’t wait to have them back again as a four!
As with lots of families, there are lots of photos of Willow, but not so many of her with her Mummy and Daddy.
Kristy recognises how important these images will be for Willow as she’s growing up…..they tell a story, a story of love. They say “you are special” and that “Mummy and Daddy love you”
Family photos don’t need to be “look here, smile!” kind of photos, I know that we don’t always feel all that comfortable in front of the camera, it’s about capturing the connection, the love and the laughs.
